By the T (Subway) from Logan Airport:

  • 30-45 minutes, Charlie Ticket Required $2; with plastic Charlie Card $1.70
Take Silver Line bus from the Airport to the South Station. At SOUTH STATION, take the Red Line outbound ALEWIFE station train; HARVARD SQUARE is the fourth stop. The Harvard Square stop on the Red Line is approximately 8 minutes from CGIS South by foot.

By walking from Harvard Square:

  • Leave Harvard Square Station and cross Massachusetts Ave. (also known as Mass Av.). You'll see a tall fence - part brick, part wrought iron. Pass through one of the many gates and you'll find yourself in Harvard Yard (a large quad surrounded by brick buildings). You should be able to see the statue of John Harvard in front of a light gray granite building. If you stand in front of the statue and turn left, you'll see a gate at the far end of the Yard. Passing through this gate, the Science Center (a modern building with several telescope domes on top) is in front of you. To your right will be Memorial Hall, a large brick building which has a striking copper and slate steeple complete with gargoyles. About 50 feet after exiting the gate, you should see a path on your right that runs besides Memorial Hall, which is guarded by black railings and parallel to a main street. Walk down this path, away from the yard, till you get to Quincy street; cross Quincy St., and you will find yourself on Cambridge St. Keep walking on Cambridge St. and you should see two new brick buildings on both sides of Cambridge St. The CGIS South building would be on your right.

By driving:

  • Parking Special Notice: There is no parking anywhere in the CGIS complex. Please call the Parking Office with any questions: 495-3772. Under no circumstances should anyone park on the ramp to the loading dock.
